SIML 2026 Author Guidelines

SIML 2026 encourage authors to submit original research that contributes to advancements in smart computing, IoT, and machine learning. We do not recommend submitting Systematic Literature Review (SLR) papers to SIML. SLR papers generally require an extensive and detailed analysis of prior research, which typically exceeds the page limits of conference papers. Given the scope and format constraints of SIML, SLR papers may not have sufficient space to provide the depth and rigor expected of a comprehensive literature review.

All submissions will be handled electronically via the EDAS paper submission system (https://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=34381).

Templates and Formatting:
•⁠ ⁠Please use the IEEE Conference templates to prepare your paper (use A4 only).
•⁠ ⁠The submitted full paper must be original, not currently under review in any other conference or journal, and must not have been previously published.
•⁠ ⁠The topic of the paper must be within the specified focus and scope.
•⁠ ⁠The submitted full paper must be written in English. Authors are encouraged to submit papers that have been thoroughly checked for language clarity, grammar, and coherence.

Page Limit and Fees:
•⁠ ⁠Papers are limited to 4-6 pages, including references, figures, and tables.
•⁠ ⁠Additional pages beyond the 6th page will be charged at 50 USD (IDR 750,000) per page.
•⁠ ⁠Submissions exceeding 8 pages will be rejected.

AI Use Policy:
•⁠ ⁠The use of content generated by artificial intelligence (AI) in a paper (including but not limited to text, figures, images, and code) must be disclosed in the acknowledgments section of any paper submitted to an IEEE publication. The AI system used shall be identified, and the specific sections of the paper that utilize AI-generated content shall be noted, along with a brief explanation of how the AI system contributed to the paper.
•⁠ ⁠The use of AI systems for editing and grammar enhancement is common practice and is generally outside the intent of the above policy. However, disclosure of AI use in such cases is recommended.

Double-Blind Review:
•⁠ ⁠The SIML full-paper review process is double-blind, and authors must take all reasonable steps to conceal their identity in a submitted paper. Avoid providing information that may identify the authors in the acknowledgments.

Attendance Responsibilities:
•⁠ ⁠The authors agree that if the paper is accepted, at least one of the authors will register for the conference and present the paper there.

No-Show Policy:
•⁠ ⁠IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference. To be published in the conference proceedings and IEEE Xplore, at least one author of an accepted paper must register for the conference at the full rate and present the paper. If a paper is accepted but not presented, it will be considered a “no-show,” and no-show papers will not be available on IEEE Xplore or other public access IEEE forums.

Steps for Preparing Camera Ready

1. Prepare the Final Manuscript

Each camera-ready submission must strictly adhere to the IEEE formatting instructions in order to be included in the SIML 2026 Proceedings and the IEEE Digital Library. Please read the following information. It is important to ensure the inclusion of your paper in the proceedings and in the IEEE Digital Library.

* Microsoft Word Template
– You can download an IEEE Conference Microsoft Word template from the IEEE website (https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html).
– Be sure to use the A4 only page size.
– Please be sure that papers are limited to six pages, including figures and tables. Additional pages containing only cited references are allowed.
– Do not use page numbers, and do not use headers or footers.
– Be sure to use title case for the paper title (capitalize first letter of each word, except for “a”, “and”, “for”, “in”, “or”, “with”)
– The paper title should be neither bold nor italic
– Author names should not be numbered; omit “1st”, 2nd”, etc.
– The abstract should begin with the keyword “Abstract”, which is bold+italic
– The abstract text should be bold but not italic
– Remove the placeholder “XXX-X-XXXX-XXXX-X/XX/$XX.00 ©20XX IEEE” from the footer. It will be added automatically during the publishing process
– Use 8pt font for references

* Latex Users
– You can download an IEEE Conference LaTeX template from the IEEE website (https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html).
– Use the following document class and options: \documentclass[10pt, conference, compsocconf]{IEEEtran}.
– Please be sure that papers are limited to six pages, including figures and tables. Additional pages containing only cited references are allowed.
– Be sure to use the A4 only page size.
– Do not use page numbers, and do not use headers or footers.

2. Certify/Convert your Files with IEEE PDF eXpress

In this step, you will upload your PDF file to IEEE PDF eXpress, which will generate a certified PDF that you should submit. The file you upload to EDAS must be the one that IEEE PDF eXpress emails back to you once all formatting checks are passed. Check your file for compliance with the IEEE PDF eXpress tool by following steps:
– Access the IEEE PDF eXpress site (https://ieee-pdf-express.org/).
– Login with your account. If you do not have any, please register. You can use conference ID 69834X.
– For each conference paper, click “Create New Title”.
– Enter identifying text for the paper (title is recommended but not required).
– Click “Submit PDF for checking” or “Submit Source Files for Conversion”.
– Indicate platform, source file type (if applicable), click “Browse” and navigate to file, and click “Upload File”. You will receive online and email confirmation of successful upload.
– You will receive an email with your Checked PDF or IEEE PDF eXpress-converted PDF attached. If you submitted a PDF for checking, the email will show if your file passed or failed. If your file did pass, then please upload the certified copy to EDAS. If your file did not pass, fix the problem and go back to Step I and check again.

3. Upload the PDF returned by IEEE PDF eXpress to EDAS.

To submit your camera-ready paper please use the upload button in your paper information. IMPORTANT: Please submit the IEEE PDF eXpress certified version of your paper (i.e., the version IEEE PDF eXpress emails back to you if everything is correct), not the one compiled on your system. Otherwise, your paper will not be considered certified in EDAS, and you will be asked by publications chairs to re-submit your camera-ready.

Author Guidelines & Publication Policy

Accepted and presented papers will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore subject to meeting IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements. Upon acceptance, authors are required to register and present their papers at the conference. As part of maintaining the quality and credibility of the conference proceedings, SIML 2026 follows IEEE’s guidelines regarding the publication of non-presented papers in IEEE Xplore. Papers that are not presented by the author at the conference are suppressed from publication in the IEEE Xplore digital library.

Reviewer Guidelines

We appreciate your willingness to dedicate your time to review for SIML 2026. Ensuring the excellence of our technical program greatly depends on the valuable time and knowledge contributed by our reviewers.

Double-blind review: The guidelines for authors emphasize the need to take appropriate steps to conceal their identities, such as excluding their names, affiliations, and acknowledgments. This essential information will naturally be incorporated in the final published edition. Similarly, reviewers are encouraged to do their utmost to remain anonymous to the authors.

Review criteria: Reviewers are expected to evaluate submissions based on the following criteria:

Relevance: Reviewers assess the relevance of the submission to the conference themes of smart computing, IoT, and machine learning. They evaluate whether the paper addresses significant challenges, presents novel ideas, and contributes to the advancement of knowledge in these domains.
Originality: Reviewers evaluate the originality and innovation of the research presented in the submission. They assess the novelty of the approach, methodology, and findings, looking for unique contributions that extend the current state-of-the-art.
Technical Soundness: Reviewers analyze the technical soundness of the research methodology and implementation. They assess the validity and robustness of the experimental design, the clarity of the technical description, and the appropriateness of the chosen methods.
Significance: Reviewers evaluate the significance and potential impact of the research. They assess the implications and potential applications of the findings, considering their relevance to academia, industry, and society at large.
Clarity and Organization: Reviewers examine the clarity and organization of the paper’s structure, ensuring that it is well-written, logically structured, and effectively communicates the research objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions.
Ethical Considerations: Reviewers pay attention to ethical considerations, such as the appropriate use of data, adherence to ethical guidelines, and consideration of potential biases or limitations in the research.
